The July Uprising and the story of Abu Saeed are being added to the textbooks

A chapter on the July-August student uprising is added to the textbook. Along with that, those concerned are thinking of adding a new story in the name of Abu Saeed who died in police firing. The picture of the former Prime Minister of the fallen government Sheikh Hasina and her quote on the back cover of the textbook are missing. There are pictures and graffiti of the July Revolution.
At the same time, many changes are being made to the history dependent subjects. After these reforms, new books will be handed over to the students.
It is known that the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) is revising the textbook in light of the 2012 curriculum. After that new books will be handed over to the students. In the meantime, the authorities are planning to add chapters on the July uprising in several books. They held several meetings to finalize the matter. There was a unanimous agreement by the concerned parties.
NCTB Chairman Professor AKM Riazul Hasan said that the picture of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the fallen Awami League government is being omitted from the textbooks. At the same time, the issue of adding a chapter on the July uprising is under discussion. Everyone has agreed on this. But it is not yet final.
He said, I want good quality writing. For that, the approval of the Ministry will be required. However, some of the graffiti of the coup have already been published in various books
NCTB chairman said that some books were printed by Indian companies. Due to criticism, they have been excluded and the local printing houses have been given the responsibility to print the books.
Professor AKM Riazul Hasan said, NCTB is working on revising the next year’s textbook in the light of the curriculum made in 2012. Already the first and second class books have been sent to the press for printing. Other classes of books will go gradually. Hopefully, all book work will be completed by December. We are trying our best to reach the revised textbooks to the students in the month of January itself. Companies involved in printing have been asked to provide new books by December 31.
It is known that after assuming responsibility, the Ministry of Education of the Interim Government turned its back on the new curriculum or National Curriculum Outline-2021. The revised curriculum will be finalized in 2025 and will be implemented from 2026. Before that, in 2025, students will be given revision books of 2012 syllabus.
Every year NCTB prints 23 crore copies of books for 1 crore 89 lakh students of secondary level in schools, madrasas and technical institutes. According to their work plan, the book manuscript was supposed to be shown to proofreaders in May-June. But this time in September, the announcement of revision of the book has come. This has raised concerns about new books reaching the hands of students at the beginning of next year. However, NCTB officials think that it will be possible to give books to the students in the month of January.
