Barrister Sumon arrested in Dhaka
The popular content creator, lawyer, and former Member of Parliament for Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat-Madhabpur) constituency, Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon, has been arrested by Dhaka’s Mirpur Model Thana police.
Mirpur Thana Duty Officer Mahmudun Nabi confirmed this information to NewsPress. However, since Mirpur Thana does not have a detention cell, Sumon has been temporarily kept at Pallabi Thana, he added.
He said Sumon was arrested from Dhaka late at night. At 1:18 AM, Sumon posted a status on Facebook, saying, “I am going with the police. See you in court. Please pray for me, everyone.“
Prior to this, Barrister Sumon had released a video message.
