Biden-Trump meeting, topics discussed

The newly elected president of the country, Republican Donald Trump, met with US President Joe Biden.

They met for the first time on Wednesday (November 13) local time. The two long-time political rivals also discussed Ukraine and the Middle East during the January handover meeting. British news agency Reuters reported this news.

On this day, Biden and Trump met in the Oval Office of the White House. There was a silent concern between them during the interview.

The meeting lasted about two hours, White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said. He told reporters that they discussed important national security and internal policy issues facing the country and the world. It was really very cordial, very tender and basic.

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters that Biden believes support for Ukraine is good for US national security. A strong and stable Europe, he argued, would keep America from being dragged into the war.

But Trump has promised a quick end to the Russia-Ukraine war. But he did not say anything clear about how to do that.

Trump told the New York Post that he and Biden “talked a lot about the Middle East” during the conversation.

The media said about Trump, “I asked for his opinion on where exactly we stand and he gave it to me.” He was very polite.

Democrat Biden defeated Trump in the 2020 election. However, he withdrew from the 2024 election race in July after a disastrous debate with Republican Trump. Then Vice President Kamla Harris was nominated by the party. He lost to Trump.

Biden and Trump have criticized each other for a long time. Biden, 81, called Trump a threat to democracy. On the other hand, 78-year-old Trump called Biden incompetent. He raised baseless claims of massive fraud in the 2020 elections, which continues to be debated.
