Bangladesh-China Club Limited Embarks on Journey
Ahmed Azam: The Bangladesh-China Club Limited has commenced its journey for the first time in Bangladesh. With this launch, a significant milestone has been achieved in establishing important economic, social, and cultural bridges between the citizens of Bangladesh and China. On November 18, 2024, in the capital city of Bangladesh, the journey of this club began with a grand ceremony at The Westin Dhaka.
The honorable chief guest, Md Touhid Hossain, the esteemed Foreign Affairs Advisor of Bangladesh’s interim government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the event. Special guests included His Excellency Haji Haris Bin Haji Othman, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed, President of the UK-Bangladesh Catalyst Chamber of Commerce and Industry, & Mr. Ashraful Haque Chowdhury, Independent Director of Bank Asia. Ms. Sarah Lee, Executive Chairman of CIDBC, Government of China, was also present as a special guest.
Additionally, the event was attended by Mr. Shahjahan Bhuiya Raju, President of Bangladesh-China Club Limited, Mr. Jahangir Sikdar, Secretary of Bangladesh-China Club Limited, and other executive committee leaders who inaugurated the club by cutting a cake. The club is located at House No. 16/B, Road No. 93, Gulshan-2.
The purpose of this club is to establish a bridge for social and economic connections between the Chinese community residing in Bangladesh and the local Bangladeshi community. It will also highlight cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh through its activities.
Approximately five hundred thousand Chinese nationals are engaged in various professions in Bangladesh. Chinese experts and investments in major projects have significantly contributed to Bangladesh’s development.
To further advance these activities and the overall development of the country, Bangladesh-China Club Limited will play a crucial role.
