Big discounts for students on tickets to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s concert

Ahmed Azam: To support the families of those martyred and injured in the July-August mass uprising, popular Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform at a concert titled “Echoes of Revolution.” The concert will be held on December 21 at the Army Stadium in the capital, organized by the “Spirits of July” platform.

Ticket sales for the concert have already begun. All proceeds from this concert will be donated to the welfare organization “July Martyrs Memorial Foundation,” which works with the families of the martyred and injured. In honor of the student’s role in the July Revolution, the organizers are offering a special discount of 16 to 36 percent on ticket purchases for students from the first hour of Victory Day on December 16.

According to a press release, tickets for the concert are being sold in three categories. First, the “VIP” tickets are priced at 10,000 BDT. Purchasers of these tickets can enjoy the event seated in front of the stage. In this case, in memory of “Victory Day” on December 16, students are given a 16 percent discount (with the discount, the price is 8,400 BDT).

Secondly, the “Front Row” tickets are priced at 4,500 BDT. Ticket holders can enjoy the concert from the front row. In honor of the year of the mass uprising, “2024,” students are given a 24 percent discount (discounted price of 3,420 BDT). Thirdly, the “General” tickets are priced at 2,500 BDT. Ticket holders can enjoy the concert from the back rows. In commemoration of “July 36,” students are given a 36 percent discount (discounted price of 1,600 BDT).

Students must use their university-provided email addresses when purchasing tickets (those who do not have this email can buy tickets with the help of others). Booths will be set up at public and private universities in Dhaka starting on December 16. There will also be a booth at the TSC of Dhaka University. Students can buy tickets online or on their own, with assistance from these booths.

According to a press release, ticket sales for the concert started on December 9 and will continue until 11 pm on December 19. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will be the main attraction of this concert, performing his popular songs. In addition, several local bands like Artcell, Chirkutt, Aftermath, and Silsila will perform. Besides, popular rap artists Sezan and Hannan will also entertain the audience. Besides music, the concert event will feature a graffiti exhibition related to the July Revolution, stage plays, a mesmerizing water zone, and various other corners.
